Supporting documents will help you (and your Climate Smart Advisor, if applicable) understand your emission sources better in the future. You’ll have a record of what data was included in previous inventory years and it’ll be easier to share knowledge if someone new joins your team.

What to upload
Depending on what activities you add to your inventory, some examples of supporting documents you might need to upload are:
- Utility bills
- Maintenance invoices
- Travel receipts, including accommodations (hotels, etc.) and transportation (plane tickets, taxi fare, etc.)
- Emission reports downloaded from online accounts, such as shipping or utility provider accounts
- A spreadsheet that documents your energy consumption, shipments, trips, or other activities, with any calculations you made (if applicable)
- If applicable, documents that indicate the size of the space your business leases and if any utilities are included in your rent, such as email confirmation from your landlord or your lease agreement
How to upload
To upload supporting documents in Climate Smart:
- Open your inventory.
- Scroll down to Supporting Documents.
- Click +UPLOAD NEW and select the file from your device to add the document to your inventory.
